Some call it a junk yard, filled with chipped, cracked, stained, broken, tasteless, useless junk. Not even Goodwill or Salvation Army would accept most of the stuff they sell. But then there are others, including me, who call the Place a treasure trove.
I discovered the place when I took my car to Firestone for oil change. While waiting, I decided to check out a shop next door, which looked like an antique market. After a few minutes of browsing through the shelves, a pair of little glass vases in the prettiest green and thin gold lines caught my eyes.
Score!!
The price tag said 2 for $3.50. I flipped over the vase and on the bottom was a sticker that read "Czechoslovakia." So on top of being so pretty and cheap, they're vintage Czech glass! (Czechoslovakia ceased to exist since 1993)
From that moment on, I became a fan. I now genuinely call it My Favorite Place.
I check out the shop every now and then, and there's something interesting almost everytime.
Well, at least it is a very interesting exhibition of how much absolute useless junk is circulating in this world.
